Abstract The aim of this study is to test the effectiveness of a health education programmed on knowledge, attitudes and practices of pregnant mothers and on the outcome of pregnancy. To accomplish such an aim an initial ”KAP” survey was conducted on (220) multipara pregnant mothers from the eleven MCH centers in Alexandria city, twenty mothers from each MCH centers were chosen on a systematic random basis to test their ”KAP” as regards different items concerning their pregnancy. The present work shows that women attending the maternal and child health centers were of rather a low socio-economic condition. The results revealed that the majority of illiterate workers. Their average monthly income was 7.43 pounds. The mean of their family size was 19.47 years. The average number of pregnancies, deliveries, abortions, living child, lost child were 4.5, 0.54, 3.31 and 0.29 respectively. |
