Abstract SUMMARY The present thesis comprises three chapters: 1. Chapter I, deals with the following fields of interest: I- The nature of electrolyte solutions; in which solvent -solvent, ion - solvent and ion-ion interactions were discused. 11- A literature survey of the conductance theories up to 1980. III- A historical background on S- alkylisothiouronium salts. Finally, the aim of this work was clarified. 2. Chapter II, includes the following: - The experimental techniques of the purification of materials and preparation of solutions. - Description of density, viscosity, dielectric constant and conductance measurements. 3. Chapter III, consists of two main sections: A- Intermolecular interactions in methanol (MeOH) — nitrobenzene (NB) mixtures at different temperatures: This section includes the results of: (i) the excess volume AVE, (ii) the deviation in the molar viscosity Ai M12 and the excess Gibbs energy of activation of flow G.E and (iii) the deviation in the dielectric constant AD. Every part contains the interpretation of the results obtained. It was found that AVE for the system under investigation has negative value at all compositions and at all temperatures (25 — 45 °C with 5 °C increment) indicating association of the cosolvent molecules.
