Abstract

Humic acids possessed prophylatic and therapeutical effects when they were injected or orally administered to experimental animals.
On the other hand, humic acids may be formed in the intestine of the animals and excreted with faeces.
To investigate whether the particular humic acids formed in the body possess the same effect as that of the administered humic acids, it most be known at first in which part of the intestine such humic acids may be formed, and what effect the diet has on the formed humic acids.
To study the problem, 20 Albino rats were adapted in the laboratory for 10 days then classified in four groups each of 5 rats. Each group was fed for three days on one of the following diet. Group 1 :*”wheat only Group 2: powdered fish only.
Group 3: a mixture of the diet 1 and 2 in the ratio 1:1. Group 4: fasted animals.
At the end of the three days, the rats were killed and the intestine was isolated. Contents of each part of the alimentary tract i.e stomach, small and large
