Abstract

The female genital organs of 1506 female camels slaughtered in Cairo abattoir were examined throughout a period of one year. Special emphasis were given to genital affections . All females aged more than 4 years . Out of the 1506 she camel, 499 were pregnant.
The Macroscopical affections of the whole genitalia were recorded as 373 organs (37.04%) . Combinations of lesions in the examined genital tract were more frequently seen than single lesions.
The number of genital organs examined in spring, summer, autumn, and winter was 441, 326, 385 and 354 genital organs of female camels respectively.
The uterus was most frequently affected (231 lesions) and constituted 61.93% of the affected cases and 22.93% of the all nongravid genitalia. The second most frequent lesions were ovarian lesions (151 lesions) with a frequency of (40.48%) and (14.99%) of the affected genitalia and all non-gravid genitalia respectively, followed by cervicel (71 lesions), ovarian bursa (54 lesions),fallopian tubes (12 lesions) and vaginal affections (11 lesions) with an incidence of (19.03%), (14.47%),(3.21%) and 2.94% of the affected genitalia, respectively.
