Abstract
Diabctes mellltiuse is a syndrome with metabolic and vascular components which are interreted. The vascular syndrome consisats of abonramalties in both large vessels (macro-angiophathy) and small vessels (micro-angiopathy). Ox-LDL plays an important role in the development of atherosclerosis , recent studies suggest that LDL cholesterol under certain circumstances, will undergo into an oxidative pathway which changes LDL cholesterol into ox-LDL cholesterol which is more atheroneic than LDL. Ox-LDL Enhances endolthelial production of leukocyte adhesion molecules, i.e. cytokines and growth factors that regulate SMC prolkiferation, collagen degradation, and thrombosis.
