Abstract

‎The main goal of this thesis is to investigate the geometrical properties of parabolic •ve. One of the characteristic features of the parabolic perspective is that any line in is projected into a part of circular arc limited by two vanishing points. So this ’ve is specified as a kind of curvilinear perspective. This mode of projection gives a
‎ensive wide-angle pictures of reality, that the curvilinear perspective may be used to me distortion that may caused by linear perspective.
‎ction of this mode of perspective is built on the reflection property of the parabola ,paraboloid, so that the properties of the parabola, the paraboloid and their intersection es and planes are considered. Moreover, the concept of parabolic perspective and its ’c model are explained.
‎olic perspective projection are developed through double projection: the first is a projection of space objects onto paraboloid surface using the focus of the paraboloid tre of projection, and the second is orthographic projection of the obtained projection, C paraboloid surface, onto a plane perpendicular to the axis of symmetry of the . loid. According to this, graphical and analytical geometrical analysis have been
‎ped to construct the parabolic perspective of geometrical elements (points, straight end planes).
‎positional problems related to the geometrical elements as coincidence, parallelism and ’on through parabolic perspective are treated. Furthermore, illustrated examples are to explain the distortion in the parabolic perspective compared with linear
‎relation between parabolic perspective and stereographic projection is considered. this coincidence between parabolic perspective of a point and its stereographic
‎’on is proved. Consequently, the mode of parabolic perspective is applied to construct parabolic perspective of circles in different positions with respect to the paraboloid. these positions one only yields the parabolic perspective of a circle as a circle. , the parabolic perspective of a sphere is considered.
