Abstract
Today, GIS is useful for managing databases, even extremely large applications such as data warehouse, because it provides an enhanced data structure that is based on the natural organization that geography provides. In other words, data can be organized in a spatial order; the very same organizational order that is used by most managers when they think about their operations and markets.
GIS is important in business because most business problems include significant spatial components and GIS enables decision makers to leverage their spatial data resources more effectively.
GIS helps in fast food industry “restaurants” in various functional areas by providing support in decision making and strategic planning . One of the major areas is identifying best location for opening new restaurant branches.
X restaurant is used as a virtual restaurant , which is beeping-up with advance technology . It needs location site for opening new branches in a selective zone in Alexandria city. There could be very complicated solution for choosing the suitable location . However, suggested criteria that can be implemented into GIS analysis process were designed and applied to decide on where to choose the best location for opening new restaurant branches .
Query builder in Arc-GIS 9.0 is used to build the geo-database and to answer the different queries from the designed geo-database to find the most suitable locations.
