Abstract This work was carried out to prepare, evaluate and compare of three prepared vaccines which are oil adjuvant FMD vaccine, oil adjuvant RVF vaccine and oil adjuvant combined FMDIRVF vaccine using Montanide IMS 13 13 as an oil adjuvant. 1- Preparation of three inactivated vaccines batches of FMD, RVF and combined FMD/RVF, using Montanide IMS 1313 as an oil adjuvant for all prepared vaccines. 2- The three prepared vaccines were tested and evaluated by safety, sterility and potency. 3- Twenty seven susceptible sheep free from either FMD or RVF antibodies were divided into three groups. First group (contained 8 sheep) were vaccinated with FMD vaccine, second group (contained 8 sheep) were vaccinated with RVF vaccine and the. third group (contained 11 sheep) were vaccinated with combined FMD/RVF vaccine. 4- Three sheep from the 1’ and 3 vaccinated groups were challenged after 21 days post vaccination with MLD5O virulent FMD virus strain 01/3/93- Egypt. 5- Three sheep from the 2’ and 3rd vaccinated groups were challenged after 21 days post vaccination with i04 MLD5O virulent RVF virus (Z1-I 501). 6- Serum samples wei-e collected from the all groups weekly for one. month then every two weeks and tested for determination of antibody titers against either FMD or RVF by mean of SNT and ELISA techniques until reaching un-protective antibody level. |
