Abstract A total of 3023 equines and 5148 cattle were inspected at different localities in Egypt to point out the incidence of hoof and claw affections, in addition to different factors causing them. Out of the inspected 3ninals, 480 (15.9 %) and 905 (17.6 %) heads of equines 3M cattle respectively were affected. The affected equines comprised 235 (49.0 %) horses, L22 (25.4 %) mules and 123 (25.6 %), while the affected Dattle included 522 (57.7 %) freizian, 248 (27.4 %) hybrid md 135 (14.9 %) native breed. The results achieved can be sunixnerized as follows: HOOP AFFECTION IN EQUThE: The incidence of hoof affections in horses was found to be 67.7 %, 27.2 %, 4.3 % and OS % among draught, riding, jumper and race horses respectively.
