Abstract
The present work was performed to study the effect of crude purslane extract on some aspect of lipid and carbohydrates metabolism in normal albino and streptozotocin - induced diabetic rats.In this study we used sixty (60) albino male rats , were categorized into four groups, fifteen rats in each group.(l)Normal control group; had free access for water and food .And received distilled water in a dose of 5 ml/kg body weight daily by intragasyric tube. I (2) Purslane group; received crude purslank extract in a dose of 5 gm per Kg body weight orally daily.(3) Diabetic Control group; after induction of diabetes, the rats received distilled water in a dose of 5 ml /kg body weight orally daily.(4) Purslane treated diabetic;. after induction of diabetes, the rats received crude purslane extract in a dose of 5 gm per Kg body weight orally daily.The duration of experiment was three week .
