Abstract In the era of information revolution when education plays a major role in spreading such information, computer assisted learning is considered as one of the most important processes. However preparation of such systems is still like a monopoly to the computer professionals. This thesis is concerned with the design of computer assisted learning systems. Marine RADAR course has been taken as a case study. In establishing the system, recent technological developments have been taken into consideration in comparison with those already used in traditional computer assisted learning systems. The use of multimedia, hypertext and hypermedia technologies when integrated into one system, would help students learning sophisticated scientific material. The proposed system can be considered as a model which can be applied to many instructional subjects by authors who are not highly professional in computer programming. |
