Abstract

This study was carried out on 2002 .2003 at the Animal Husbandry Department, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Alexandria University to Investigate the effect of temperature, breed, sex, and their interaction on some productive traits, blood parameters, endocrine response, physiological parameters and immune response against New castle Disease Virus vaccine, in 3 native chicken breeds (Fayoumi, Golden Montazah, and (+irnmizah).
Daily exposure to high temperature, constantly (P <0.05) decreased ie body weights of chickens (3 14 %) compared to those exposed to ormal ambient temperature from 4-11 weeks of age.
Males had heavier body weights (11 12 %), AGR and RGR (1—3), lative head (4.75) and heart (0.50) weights, FIB (8.73) and RBCS count 2.89) from 4 12 weeks of age than females, but low relative liver, izzard, proventriculus, and carcass weights compared to females.
Golden Montazah males had the heaviest weight (231.04) at nonnal emperature, while their females had the lightest weight at high emperature (257.54). The Giminizah breed maintained its significantly igher body weight through out the whole
experimental period than the other two breeds.
