Abstract

In the last few years, the great progress in electrical and electronic industry gave a push and had a great effect in stimulating the research on amorphous semiconductors, or semiconducting glass materials.
The term ” semiconducting glass” may be defined (1) as a homogeneous, single phase, non-crystalline solid in which:-
(1) Bulk electrical conduction occurs predominantly by electrons and/or holes rather than by ions.
|2) The temperature coefficient of the resistivity is negative.
If3) Its specific resistivity is less than 109 ohm.cm at 25°C.
Generally, glassy state means possessing properties like Iness, rigidity and brittleness beside a morphological itures like transparency. It is so common to find material glassy state, so universally known from everyday jrience, that its definition may seem superfluous. But, ready the term glassy state has a wide meaning in itself. material can be introduced in a glassy state but some easily to be so, others with more difficulty and under :ial conditions.
