Abstract This work was carried aut on the period between December 1978 till the end 1980. 907 lymph nodes and other organs were collected from various animals of different ages and sex. The samples were collected from Alexill~deriat Damanhour and Kafer-El-Dawar abattiors. The speciemens included 588 macroscopically tuberculous lymph nodes and different tissues from apparently diseased carcases (showing tuberculous-like lesions) and 319 samples (lymph nodes only) which were collected from clinically healthy domesticated animals. The animal species from which the samples were collected were pigs, cows, Buffaloes and sheep. In the labOratory the samples were examined bacteriologicallY i or 8ci.d-.J’BSt lJ2.:ic.r:?-o..rg0.l2.ioIH8 and oti:ler bacterial flora. The isolated acid-fast micro-organisms were studied morphologically, culturally and biochemically for identification. The atypical and identified mycobact-eria were tested by injection intraperitoneally in mice tor deterimination of the pathogenicity.
