Abstract

Wireless communication technology is the new trend of communication in the 21 century. The new technology is motivated by the increasing users. Demand on portability and portable devices like mobile phones and laptops. Wireless ATM (WATM) is a broadband wireless network, which is characterized by its ability to deliver data and multimedia services at high speeds to portable devices. Wireless ATM is the technology of extending the wireless ATM into the wireless environment by many factors that degrade the signal level and Quos requirement such as multipart fading interfaces and burst noise. In this thesis error control coding used in WATM physical layer is considered follows: First, the performance of Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem (BCH) codes are examined over different channel models with and without cell interleaving. The simulation shows the main parameters that affect code performance like code rate error correction capability it is shown using cell interleaving enhances the system performance. Second, we use an adaptive BcH error control scheme based on the channel condition to achive better overall system performance. Our centralizing in this research work is to combine the adaptive BCH coding scheme with cell interleaving namely interleaving over one, two, and for cells Simulation results show that using our proposed scheme that combines adaptive BCH coding with well interleaving gives better performance result than either using fixed BCH code rates with cell interleaving or using the adaptive BCH coding scheme without cell interleaving.
