Brucellosis is a major and common Zoonotic disease affecting cattle, buffaloes, Sheep and goats as well as human beings. A total of 2724 blood samples were collected from cattle (1234), buffaloes (165), sheep (U90) and koats (135) from various localities at Behera Province and subjected to the serological examination using the Rose enga1 plate test and the tube agglutination test..
Percentage distribution of positive oases as indicated by the Rose Bengal plate test was found to be 5.6, 4.8, 1.8 and zero in sheep, cattle, huffaloes and goats respectively.
The incidence of brucellosis infection determined using the tube—agglution test was found to be 5%, 4.1% and 1.2% in sheep, cattle and buffaloes and goats respectively were consiered as suspicious.
Concerning the susceptibility of bruoellosia among animals it has been found that sheep and cattle herds may be considered as the main souroes of -infeotiàn to other animal.speoiee. .
