Abstract The aim of our study was to compare chest pain charcteristics in patient with normal and abnormal coronary angiograms and to define those characteristics most closely associated with a diagnosis of typical chest pain based on angiographic findings. The main findings of this study showed that, there were no important differences in the site, quality, and radiation of chet pain between patients with normal and abnormal coronary angiograms but three symptoms had discriminatory value expressed in binary fashion (”typical” or ”atypical”): the consistency with which pain was reproduced by exercise (typical, score index 10/10 ), the duration of pain episodes (typical, five minutes ), and the frequancy of pain at rest (typical. score index 0 or 1/10 ) |
