Abstract

The condition under which ctjails are manad including the stocking system, age from hatching till six week age and periods of day as well as its influence on the behavioural and productive traits were investigated.
The study of these aspects of cuail management and their relative influences on behavioural and productive traits in investigated birds revealed that:
Mixing Brown with White cuails inprove body weight (54.39 g), average weight gain (17.37 g) feed intake (73.82 g) and feed conversion (4.25) Moreover, most of movement activities, feeding and drinking behaviour and aggressive encounters.
2. With advanced age, there were a gradual increase in feeding behaviour (time spent & frecjjencjes), reaching Peak at the 4th week, while, aggression frecijencies (6.20 and 0.60. respectively), reached their maxinum level during the 5th week. Moreover, the peak frequency of vocalization (9.50) was observed during the 6th week. The same trend was also observed in crouching time, since it reached its maxinijm time, percentages and absolute and relative frecjjencies during the 4th week (3.140, 88%, 7.70 and 7.10, respectively). Hjddling, reached its highest level at the 2nd week (58%), moreover, trough pecking percentage was at its Peak during the 6th week (73%). The productive traits were also recorded to be increased with advanced age, reached its highest level during the 6th week. Body weight (107.98 g), weight gain (26.98 g/week), feed intake (142.70 g/week) and feed conversion (5.14). Cn the other hand, the reverse trend of age effects were observed for drinking behaviour, where, the relative frecuencies (2.41 and 0.99, respectively) were during the 1 week. F-kjddling was at highest level (4.10) during the 1st week, wall and feather pecking and most of movement activities. stand-i no (3 . 33 runni rio (2. !(}) end troll Ok mo (2.10).
