Abstract

The present study was carried out in two experiments.
riment I was conducted to investigate the quantitative
qualitative difference in semen production among New
4fld White, Californian and Rex breeds of, rabbits.
Six males from each breed of rabbits were used. They
housed individually in separate pens of steel cages.
Dughout the experimental period, rabbits were given a
entrated diet consisted of 27 9 barely, 25 % wheat
, 15 96 ground horse been, 1.5 96 bone meal and 0.5 96
n salt. Barseem hay was given ad libtum. Four semen
iections were obtained, each of two consecutive
culates. Semen samples were evaluated for different
acteristics and the following results were obtained:
Breed of rabbits had no significant effect on ejaculate
volume, mass motility, dead sperm percentage, abnormal
sperm percentage, sperm cell concentration and fructose H concentration.
Ejaculation frequency (order) had highly significant
effect on mass motility of sperms, dead sperm and
abnormal sperm percentages.
Ejaculate volume, sperm cell concentration and fructose
concentration were not affected significantly by
ejaculation frequency
