This study was carried out at Meet Badr village, Sammanoud centre, in Gharbia Governorate during the period extended from January 2000 till the end of June 2001 . This work was done to explore the role of manure in pens or crop
ands in transmission of parasites to the farm animals. The materials of this work included animal stables, manure heaps, soil and grass from cultivated lands. During this study, 586 samples were examined . These samples included 156 stable samples, 240 samples of manure heaps, 94 soil samples and 96 grass samples. Soil and manure samples were examined for presence of
eggs and oocysts using sedimentation and floatation technique while, the nematode larvae were isolated using Baermann technique. Grass samples were examined for nematode larvae by sedimentation technique. Mites were isolated from manure manure was examined by naked eye for the presence of larvae and pupae of flies as well as ticks. The results of the present study revealed that the infestation rate of these samples with parasites was (59.6%) , (37.9%) , (53.2%) and (37.5%) for stable samples, manure
heaps, soil samples and grass samples respectively
