Abstract

This work was conducted to study the effect of dietary supplementation of vitamin C and/or vitamin S on growth performance, immune response and chemical body composition of Oreochromis niloticus. This study depended on recording the results concerning body weight development, body gain, body length, feed conversion ratio, protein efficiency ratio, measuring of some blood parameters, mortality rate, immunity parameters and chemical body composition of fish.
Experiment I:
This work was conducted on tilapia nilotica fish which received basal diet (Bd) at the rate of 3% of body weight for 2 weeks (preliminary period) after that fishes were allotted into 12 groups (20 in each group). Fish groups were fed as follows: First group received Rd with supplementation of vitamin C and E at normal requirement of Nile tilapia (C/S 100/75 mg/kg diet; control group), group 2 received Bd only without supplementation of vitamin C or vitamin ED, group 3 received Bd with supplementation of only vitamin C at normal requirement and without addition of vitamin ED (C/S 100/Q mg/kg diet), group 4 received Bd with supplementation of only vitamin ED at normal requirement without vitamin C (C/ED 0/75 mg/kg diet), group 5 received Bd with vitamin C/ED 100/150 mg/kg diet, group 6 received Bd with vitamin C/ED at 100/300 mg/kg diet, I group 7 received Bd with vitamin C/E at 200/75 mg/kg diet, group 8 ireceived Bd with vitamin C/S at 200/150 mg/kg diet, group 9
