Abstract This work deal with methods of isolation and identification of fungus affecting skin and hair of man and animals as well as antigenic and immunological studies concerning these fungi. from total of 77 animals (cows) affected with ringworm hair and skin were collected and by direct microscopic examination 56 Case (72.8%) gave positive result. While: from 65 Case (84.40%) examined on culturing the results showed that high rate of isolates (95.38%) were related to Trichophyton verrucosum as main agent of ringworm in cows, also two isolates were identified as T. mentagrophyte as well as one isolate of T. rubrum. A total of 50 Patients: 30 of them affected with tinea capitis and 20 affected with tinea corpris were examined. In affected patients with tinea capitis, 19 Cases (63.33%) were positive in direct microscopic examination. while in cultural examination 23 isolates of T. violaceum were recovered in high incidence and concerned as the agent of tinea capitis. Out of 20 Patients with tinea corporis 13 Oases (65%) give positive reading in direct microscopical examination while in cultural examination 15 isolates (75%) were recovered and high incidence of identified isolates were M. gypseum (53.3.%). |
