Abstract Data of 90-day, 305-day and total milk yield were analysed for sire effect (random) and some non-genetic effects according to Harvy (1990). Results of the analysis were used to construct 5 sets of additive and multiplicative correction factors. Records of the three traits were adjusted for the non-genetic factors and the data corrected by the five types of correction factors were analysed using the same factors used for the original data. F-values for the non-genetic factor, residual mean squares, R2 and CV% estimated from the results of analyzing the three traits before correction were compared with their corresponding estimated after correction and these comparison showed that the additive correction factors calculated according to Turner and Young (1969) was the best among the five types of correction factors constructed. |
