Abstract

Growth promoter play an important role in the development of poultry production, because they are used primarily for improving the physical performance such as increasing body weight gains and to improve feed conversion ratio in broilers production. In the last few years the scientist and researcher direct their view towards using the plant extracts and the essential oils extracted from these plants as a natural and safe growth promoters due to their antimicrobial, antioxidant, and immunostimulant effect in addition to their stimulating effect of the digestive system. The present study was conducted in two experiments.
The 1st experiment was done to throw light on the effects of using two sources of essential oils ( anise oil and clove oil ) on growth performance ( body weight, body weight gain, feed consumption, feed conversion ratio, relative growth rate and protein efficiency ratio), clinicopathological and immunological examination and finally on the carcass traits. While the 2nd experiment was performed to study the nutritive value of the diets through digestibility trails.
