Abstract

The Unified Modeling Language ( UML ) is becoming a global standard diagrammatic notation for expressing and describing Object- Oriented models. Recently, the Object Constraint Language ( OCL ) has been proposed as a standard expression language for expressing additional constraints on UML models, which are not conveniently expressible in a diagrammatic form. In the present work we introduce an abstract type called Whole-Part relation and derive composition and aggregation relationships. Furthermore, we improve UML metamodel to be integrable with Whole-part relation.
An algorithm that can investigate a Cyclic Generalization in UML Class Diagram Model will be developed.
We introduce also some OCL shortcomings and their solutions as well as the modification of metamodel of OCL types to meet our solutions.
Finally we put a mathematical model that can be considered as a base for checking the validation of OCL constraints.
