Abstract

The study area is a part of Syrian-Arc System. The objectives of this study are to map the area, studying structure Constructing and interpreting the structural pattern along the different profiles, eventually correlating between them and then verification of the interpreted pattern. All landforms on El-Maghara area may be divided into three major groups; structural landform, erosional landforms and depositional landforms. Six folds and two monoclines could be identified in the study area. The three folds including “two anticlines and one syncline” namely G.Homayiar anticline, G.Umm Tabanga anticline and the syncline in between have affected the Bir El-Maghara and older formations The other three folds namely Gebel El-Maghara anticline, Gebel Manzour syncline and Gebel El-Rokba anticline affect Shusha and Bir El-Maghara Formations, Cretaceous rocks System ground The age relation of the mapped structures indicate that the tectonic evolution of El-Maghara area include three phases. The first phase includes folding geometry NNW-SSE trending folds and NW- SE, extensional faults, the second phase include folds of second generation, thrust and reverse faults. The third phase include left lateral diagonal slip faults potentialities
