Abstract Antibiotics may be classified according either to their microbiological effect or to their chemical structure (chapter I). The examples selected in the present study are the Cephalosporins (Cefac3roxil, Cefoperazone, Cefotaxime, Cefoxitin1 Cephalexin, Cephalothin, Ceph— zolin and Cephradine), the Chioramphenicol, the Strep— tomycin and the Amoxycillin. Assay of these antibiotics and their degradation products in combination is cha— ilenging. In this connection the work is here directed to find suitable stability indicating method of assay.
