Abstract
In this thesis. an invesigation on helical slabs which tixed at both ends is presented. The view was t.o obtain the behaviour ClI the helical slabs within the exprimental tests and study the helical slabs elastically as a first phase.
An experimental programme including four reinforced concrete slabs involved in-plane and out of plane curved slabs (helical slabs) were presented. All slabs have the same plane dimensions and the (JnlY varible is the rise between two fixed ends.
A general computer program based on the Finite Element Method was developed to study the elastic behaviour of the helical slabs. A quadrilateral element with four external nodes was used in the program. The most important varibles which define the geometrical shape ot the helical slabs were studied.
