Abstract

THE EVER INCREASING DEMAND FOR PERFORMANCE AND CAPACITY IMPROVEMENT WIRELESS SYSTEMS HAS MOTIVATED THE DESIGN OF INTERFERENCE-RESISTANT RESISTANT RECEIVERS FOR SIGNAL RECEPTION .THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THIS THESIS IS TO ENHANCE THE PERFORMANCE AND THE CAPACITY OF DOWNLINK (THE LINK from THE BASE STATION TO THE MOBILE STATION) CODE DIVISION MULTIPLE ACCESS (CDMA) SYSTEMS BY APPLYING SIGNAL PROCESSING TECHNIQUES TO SUPPRESS THE INTERFERENCE.
WE STUDY THE PROBLEM OF INTERFERENCE CANCELLATION IN DOWNLINK CDMA SYSTEM AT DIFFERENT SCENATIOS.
FIRST, THE THESIS INVESTIGATES THE PROBLEM OF INTERFERENCE CANCELLATION IN DOWNLINK CDMA SYSTEMS IN TIME DOMAIN. A HYBRIA RECEIVER SCHEME COMPRISING A REGULARIZED ZERO FORCING EQUALIZER AND PARALLEL INTERFERENC CANCELLATION HAS BEEN SUGGESTED AND STUDID IN THE THESIS TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. RESULTS REVEAL THE SUPERIORITY OF THE PROPOSED SCHEME TO THE TRADITIONAL RAKE RECEIVER, CONVENTIONAL PIC AND LINEAR EQUALIZERS.
