Abstract The purple lined borer , Chilo agamemnon Ples is considered as one of the major pest problems in sugar –cane cultivation areas in middle and Upper Egypt . this pest causes serious damage to sugar – cane plantations , resulting in great losses in cane and sugar yields. The present work dealt primarily with studying certain ecological aspects for bettre understanding of the nature of infestation and size of damage caused by this pestin sugar-cane plantations . Then, the study extended to investigate the effect of some agricultural practices , as well as improving the efficient of the egg parasite, Trichogramme evanescens West . release for efficient management of C.amamemnon infestation in sugar-cane field. |
