Abstract The new trend in research and development make use of microcomputer equipment to design microcomputer controlled data acquisition systems for measuring the parameters of the phenomena under test, processing of the received data and visualization of the results. Microcomputer controlled experiments give the possibility to combine several separate working instruments and devices into a system with various applications via an interface bus like the GP/B. The complex work of the instruments into such microcomputer controlled data acquisition system demands specific organization. To realize such organization, one needs hardware and software decisions, which allow to find the answer of the problems. In multipurpose design a standard connection is required between the controlling microcomputer and the devices, working together with them inside the system. All devices, which possess the GP/B can be connected together within a system, without problems. The user can choose those devices, which correspond to his own requirements, and to combine them without interface problems. |
