Abstract
Several methods are used for the puri fication of wet¬process phosphoric acid from metal ions. among these methods. is the liquid extraction method.
Extraction of ferric ions from phosphoric acid solutions by liquid ion exchange using different organic extractant mixtures has been studied.
The objectives of this study are:
Investigating the existence of synergistic mixtures
- The nature and composition of the synergistic complex formed.
It was found that ferric ions are better extracted from dilute solutions of phosphoric acid.
Good resul ts were genera lly obtained wi th organic mixtures containing a solvating extractant. specially when combined with a high aggregation number sulphonic acid.
