Abstract It is important that engineers be able to perform successive measurements and it is equally important that they be - able to estimate the accuracies of their measurements. There is no such thing as an easy measurement, nor there is any substitute for careful measurement in many areas of basic research and applied product development. Automated measurements provide successful, uccessive, repeated, and fast measurement. Measurements generally comprise repeated execution of procedures which may be a source of error. with computer controlled measurements, repeatability is improved, both for personnel and for the same operator over a period of time. Computer controlled measurements provide ease with which data may be reliably acquired, operated and stored thus enhancing the accuracy of measurements. One of the advantages of automated measurements is its intrinsic capability in the manipulation of data. Various operations can be done easily with the aid of the computationand storage capabilities of computer controlled measurements. Acquired data may be analyzed, ordered, and organized and presented in the required form . In this work we illustrate the onsiderable capabilities applications. As an example of this, we introduce a computer controlled program which measures the characteristics of a PIN and utilizes it to perform various applications such as controlled variable step attenuator, an amplitude and an ON/OFF microwave switch. ,We also demonstrate various applications of computer olled measurements of characteristics of several passive conductors microwave devices. suggestion for the fabrication of microstrip circuits ,the less expensive ordinary double-sided photo PC boards The characteristics of the microstrip are using automated techniques. |
