Abstract

All the machines and equipment that are using in the production technology of yarns and their Sub-products are subjected to wear ability, tear ability, and failures actions. This will lead to the loss in the productivity, quality and will decline the productivity unit or mill profitability. With the increase in complexity of equipment, in the stringency of operating conditions, and in the positive identification of system effectiveness requirements. becoming harder to satisfy the requirements.
To achieve the lowest possible total cost of maintenance, it is necessary to implement an
optimization technique to determine the optimal maintenance policy and its associated cost. An appropriate maintenance model can increase the mean time to failure of systems with increasing hazard functions, reducing the frequency of repairs and so reduce cost.
Chapter 2
Maintenance plays a key role in an organization’s long-term profitability and has
increasingly become an apart of a total performance approach, together with other topic such as productivity, quality, safety and environment. This has been reflected by
the desire of organizations to improve maintenance performance.
There are many definitions for the maintenance activities i.e.:
The European Federation of National Maintenance Societiesdefines maintenance as:
All actions which have as an objective to retain an item in or restore it to, a state in which it can perform the required function.
The aims of machine maintenance is to keep the machines in good running condition,
with minimum stops and with low cost and time.
There are many types of maintenance such as;
*Planned maintenance *Unplanned maintenance * Routine maintenance
*Predicative maintenance * corrective maintenance…..etc.
The ultimate measure of the reliability of equipment
is the cost to maintain it. Maintenance cost typically includes the cost of labors and parts to perform repairs. In many cases, it is also reasonable to assign a cost to down time.
Lubrication equipment and lubrication systems are essential components of manufacturing
and industrial machinery and technology.
Oils and grease are the most common lubricants in spite of any substance having the required viscosity properties may be used. The lubricant is usually a liquid. Even gases, under some circumstances, make good lubricants. The commonly used viscosity units are the kinematics viscosity (centistokes) and Say Bolt universal viscosity (second).
Other machine parts those are highly connected with quality or ends down must be maintained according to the level of yarn quality. Such parts are; top delivery roller cots cleaning, rotor cleaning, and teeth quality of the opening roller….etc.

Chapter 3
One of the quality key turns is the maintenance of the textile machines. The main elements of the maintenance are; raw material, spare parts, labors, machines, and finance.
The problematic nature is how to keep the quality of the yarns and sub-products at a reasonable level to be competitive (competitor) in the open market economy via the different elements of the maintenance program.
The use of the different types of maintenance according to the status conditions can be help in upgrading the quality parameters of the Textile products. In the present work the field application of the maintenance program for any spinning, machine or preparatory, one, for quality level recognition, will take place:
1- Make the experimental on different types of maintenance on different kinds of spinning machines.
2- Carry out results before and after maintenance, for different maintenance group with different period.
3- Comparative study between maintenance groups.
4- Test of hypothesis between maintenance groups.
5- Study the cost of the maintenance in every stage.
6- Study the different kind of maintenance types on different kinds of machines.
Chapter 4
In this chapter two parts will be expand, the first part will refer to the spinning
procedure while the second part will refer to testing procedure.
Concerning the spinning procedure the used samples for this work has been drawn from
the products of the spinning mill directly according to each spin plans only we have
varied the maintenance period throw different types of maintenance i.e. (setting checking,
predictive, preventive maintenance).
Chapter 5
This chapter will be define throw two parts, the first part will be deals, the different types of maintenance in spinning mill, the schedule of maintenance staff, the schedule of the main setting in every stage in spinning mill, schedule of maintenance cost and maintenance staff jobs.
The second part will deals throw two sections of the experiments, the first section will deal the experiments that have been carried out in side the mill to investigate the effect of used the different types of maintenance program on the quality of mill products such as: slivers, roving ….etc.
the second section will deal the experiments that have been carried out in side the effect of different maintenance process on the quality of yarn such as the effect of grinding on quality, used the different positions for cots on yarn…...etc.
Chapter 6
In this chapter we will shown the percent of improvement between the different groups of maintenance and the comparative between them by the way the percent of Uster stander
