Abstract
This research work deals with the application of network planning techniques (PERT and CPM) as a powerful tool for maintenance planning.Due to the complexity of equipment aintenance, it becomes difficult to derivate an optimum policy. In the present work several approaches were suggested. Some of them are aiming to achieve the optimum cost maintenance policy, and the others are developed to permit progress control when planning main¬tenance work.This work consists of (6)chapters. In chapter (1), tl new approach is suggested for topological presentation of network. Chapter (2), deals with the achievement of t be optimum cost maintenance policy by decreasing the MDT of equipment and increasing its availability.Chapter (3), discusses the problem of uncertainty in mainteoence projects planning. To decrease its effect two approaches were suggested.
Chapter (4) develops the use of standard networks.Three time allowances were suggested to take into considerat¬ion tbe e±:fect of the parameters which influence the working speed •In chapter (5), an analogue system was developed to compute the critical path, without further alculations~ It caD also cal~late the activities bouadaries, and float values.
