Abstract The use of electronic computers in production control or in decision making in general means the use genera a quantitative technique to select one decision among the many other alternatives. The main subject of this thesis is to give an example for the application of computers in one of the important phases of production control irhich is schedu¬ling; in the -Priming industry in which the scheduling -phase plays the important role in Production control if compared with other types of industry. The -Printing shop is a flow job shop; to find a feasible schedule means to determine the starting and completion time for each operation envolved in printing. Mainly a schedule can be regarded as the sequence by which jobs are processed assuming that the starting rtin time of the first job is -iven. The printing shop is not always a simple flow shop but mostly there are more than one machine of each type; it can be called a parallel floshoe. To solve such a model-i.e. to find that sche¬dule that has the minimum execution time - two methods. |
