The work d$sorited in the present thesis is oonerned w1th an experimtal study of the diffrient dissolved gases and a wide ral1ge of con cen trat10ns va:rious organic additives on the static eleotrohYdad1!lam1c }Wad developed 1n transfonner oil and liquid parattbl •:b” head was measured tor degas~ed and OXY~en sa’tara¬ted transtorlr.er 011 and 11.:luid paraffin. Nitrogen aad air saturated transformer ail was also eJeamined. ~he Prea.neeof any of these dissolved gases was 10und to reducetbe ”’head developed, the most striking reduction be~ fOWld with oJeygen in solution • The additives examined with transformer e11 Were qui. noline and toluene for both de!assed and ox,ygen salura’.4 oil. Additiun of quinoline and toluene to tran8former 011 had OPPosite effects. Whereas quinoline increased the pressure bead, tnluene reduoed the head. The relst10aShlp between additive concentration end developed head is a complex one in quinoline 3nd revealed the presence 01 maximum and minimum points. In oase of toluene, the.
