Abstract In this work the characteristics of the inclined, closed therrnosyphon tube was investigated. A test rig was designed and constructed to achieve heat transfer measurements from a closed tube filled with Acetone as working fluid. The working fluid evaporated at the lower end of the tube and condensated at the upper end. The main parameters, namely, saturation pressure, heat flux, inclination angle and fill ratio were investigated. The experimental work was carried out at different saturation pressures (1, 1.5 and 2 bar absolute) at different seven heat fluxes (21404,17234,13659,10485,8356,6839 & 3615 W/m2). The results were obtained at different inclination angles, these angles were (0, 15, 30, 45, 60 &75 degree) measured from the vertical axis and at a fill ratio of 0.25,0.5 and 0.75. from detailed analysis of experimental results, it is found that: • Generally the heat transfer coefficient, (at both of the evaporation and condensation sections), was affected by the saturation pressure, heat flux, inclination angle and the fill ratio. |
