Abstract Part I: As a part of an extensive program aimed at studying the effect of structure modification on the antimicrobial activity of compounds containing thiocarba— moyl functions, tiziazoline and thiazolidinone ring systems, sixty nine new thioureas, thiosemicarbazones, thiazolines, and thiazolidinones derived from 4(3H)— quinazolinone were synthesized. The synthetic as well as the biological results are presented in three main parts as follows: Deals with. the synthesis of ten new 2—metbyl—3-. substituted thiocarbaiaoylamino—4(3H)—quinazolinones (lila_i) and their cyolization into the corresponding 2—methyl—3—(3—subst itut ed—4—phenyl—2 , 3—dihydrothiazol— —2—ylideneamino)—4(3R)—quinazolinones (IVa_j) and 2—metbyl—3—(3—subst ituted—4—oxotbiazolidin—2—ylidene— amino)—4 (3H)—quinazolinones (VIaj)• |
