Abstract
In this thesis a new numerical approach to the solution of elliptic boundary-value problems in general, and wave propaga¬tion as a special case, has been described and studied in details. The method has been tested for the numerical solution of an elliptic problem with known solution. Several numerical tests have been carried out using different initial wave profiles. Numerical results have been found to be in good agreement with the physical case as well as with previous results obtained by other methods.
