Abstract Despite of the massive publications on lake mariut and the nozha hydrodrome, no concentration has been given to study in details the chemistry of certain trace metals. Most workers performed researches on the total metal content in the water and sediments. However, no attention was given to the different fractions of the metals in both particulate and dissolved forms, or to its species in the sediments of both water bodies. Accordingly, the present work was undertaken to cover this gap, concentrating on the zinc metal in both lake mariut and the nozha hydrodrome, which are subjected to different degrees of anthropogenic and industrial pollution. |
