Abstract

As known that the economic power of a country is determinded by its output of steel. So, studies of steel properties in general and electrochemical, especially, have been received a great attention. In such respect, the corrosion and corrosion inhibition of steel in the different media become very interesting and important owing to its wide applicability in industry and domestic life. The purpose of the present investigation is to study the corrosion and corrosion inhibition of C- steel in aqueous media.
The thesis comprises three main chapters
the first chapter: Deals with the following fields of interest :
(i)corrosion principles, forms and corrosion protection.
(ii)Literature survey of corrosion behavior of C- steel.
(iii)Aim of the present work.
The second chapter: Deals with the experiment part whichchemical composition of the investigated material, mechanical properties and corrosion fatigue test machine.
Also the experimental techniques contain the instruments and the procedures used for the corrosion measurement and calculation such as weight loss, galvanostatic polarization and potentiodynamic anodic polarization.
The third chapter: Deals with the results obtained and their discussion under four separated sections (A), (B), (C), and (D).
SectionContains the results of weight loss measurement for C- steel in 2M HC1 solution containing different concentrations of the Cyanoacetohydrazide derivatives. The results revealed that these derivatives behave similarly and the weight loss is generally decrease with increasing the concentrations of these derivatives. The
