Abstract Lake Edku is a coastal lagoon in the south Eastern Mediterranean region, situated west of the Nile Delta. The lake is connected to the Mediterranean Sea via Boughaz El-Maadia, through which sewage and industrial wastes discharging into the Sea from Tabia pump station, enters the lake during stormy days. The water feeding lake Eduku is derived from different sources. It principally comes from three main drains namely Bousily, Edku and Berzik, followed in importance by the sea water inrush, rainfall and seepage of underground water from the cultivated lands. |
