Abstract Four field experiments were carried out to study growth, yield and chemical content of fodder beet (Beta vulgaris L.) plant and its parts during 1990/1991, 1991/1992 at Shalkan and during 1992/1993 under both Shalkan and Ras Sudr conditions. The effect of: 1-Planting distance of 15, 25 and 35 cm between hills, 2- Nitrogen fertilization rates of 60, 80 and 100 kg N/fed, 3- Foliar-5 rates of 0.0, 1, 2 and 3 kg/fed applied at three months ages, were studied and the growth, yield and chemical constituents measurements were taken at 120, 150, 180 and 210 days after sowing at Shalkan conditions and at 210 days at Ras Sudr conditions. |
