Abstract
Port Fouad lagoon lies east to suez canal in the North-western part of Sinai of Sinai peninsula, between longitude 32o 20’ and 32o 30’ E and latitude 31o 7’ 31’ 15’ N. The surface area of this lagoon is about 21.000 feddans (one feddan is equivalent to 4200 m2 ). The lagoon does not receive any amount of drainage waters. It is very shallow, with a depth ranging from 20 to 120 cm and an average of about 60 cm. the average fish yield of port fouad lagoon rose from 245 to 630 metric tons per year in 1977.
