Abstract
n the present work,some brick bLends from cheap LocaL raw materiaL
were prepared and examined.various minor in organic and/or organic
additives as weLL as factors affecting the produced quaLities were
investigated.some non-heat bricks and Low curing temperature poLymers
gave acceptabLe resuLtes.
some cement admixtures,e.g.LighnsuLphonates,acryLates,hydroxy
carboxyLic acidderivatives,caLcium chLoride and sodium siLicate,
proved to be usefuL,with asmaLL percent of cement,to give acceptabLe
resuLtes of compression strenght and buLk density.variation of
bLending and modifying conditions yieLded avariety of bricks
appLicabLe for different purposes,e.g.insuLation or buiLding.
By proper seLection of raw materiaL and admixture,the brick cost
reduction can be achieved.
