Abstract Chronic suppurative otitis media is otorrhea through a perforated tympanic membrane present for at least two weeks. There are two types of chronic suppurative otitis media : safe or non dangerous tube - tympanic type and the unsafe or bone invading attico - antral disease. The tympanic membrane serves as a key component of the tympano-ossicular system for sound transmission. Perforation of the tympanic membrane can result in conductive hearing loss that ranges from negligible to 50 dB. Seemingly identical perforations in size and loc~tion produce different degrees of hearing loss thea im of this study was to correlate between audiometric findings and operative data. |
