Abstract

During the last faw decades, comprehensive investigation have shown more clearly the importance of bee pollination of uncounted number of cultivated plants. For these plants, effective insect pollination is a pre-requisite condition for satisfactory seed and fruit yields (McGregor, 1976). Beside honeybee, wild bee species, especially those belonging to family megachilidae are reported to play an important role as major pollinators of several crops (El-Berry, 1968, Mazeed, 1968, El-Badawy, 1975, Yousif-Khalil et al ., 1987, El-Zakardy, 1989). Moreover these species possess many morphological adaptations that enable them to be successful pollinating agents for many plant species (Bohart, 1952), yet, this role is qreatly suppressed by some destructive agents. In this respect, pesticides applications and the modern agricultural techniques are involved for monitoring and destroying the populations of such bee species. In addition, natural enmies of wild bee species including parasites and predators are considered also serious destructive agents playing great role in minimizing the population of such species . The present investigation aimed to survey and identify. The natural enemies of bee species belonging to family megachilidae, and to throw the light on certain ecological, biological and morphological aspects of the most common and serious enemies.
