Abstract

The main objective is eliminate manufacturing wastes to reduce manufacturing
costs, increase productivity and increase data transfer with adopting LEAN
philosophy and tracing the production line using automatic identification (AIDC).
The LEAN principles eliminate wastes such as operations and processes wastes
whether waste in time, waste in machine loading or waste in logistics, the automatic
identification and data capture (AIDC) is a technology reduces the recording data
errors. The main methodologies used in achieving LEAN are KANBAN, Constant
Work in Process (CONWIP) and Hybrid model.
The Make span is a LEAN prerequisite used to reduce the waste in time such as
idle time in the production schedule by 10% and increase the machine utilization.
These merits occurred by applying the proposed rule named idle time priority factor
(ITPF), this rule depends on the network-based schedule of jobs with precedence
constraints.
The wastes that occur due to intra-cell movement of parts and logistics when the
system is very heavily utilized are eliminated by applying cellular manufacturing
(CM) and cellular manufacturing layout (CML) designs. The manufacturing costs are
reduced by integrating LEAN philosophy and (AIDC) by 35%.
