Abstract
The aim of the present work was to study the electromyographic changes may occur in muscles following injection with botulinium toxin, and to evaluate changes in muscle power & tone following injection of botulinium toxin.
The material of the present work consisted of 20 patients with different indications for botulinium neurotoxin injection presented to the electromyography unit of the neurology department at el-hadara university hospital during the time period starting July 2008 till July 2009 .
They were divided into 2 unrelated groups according to diagnosis.
Group 1 consisted of 16 patients with spasticity , including 11 male 68% and 5 females 31% with age ranging between 6 years and 63 years with the mean age 32.81+ 22.56 years .
